CAMBRIDGE -- Three big road projects worth more than $80 million are up for discussion this week.
Tues., March 9, Waterloo regional councillors consider a $53-million proposal to convert Franklin Boulevard into a string of 11 roundabouts as part of a rebuilding plan from Pinebush Road in the north to Myers Road in the south
The staff recommendation will be debated at 9:30 a.m. in council chambers at 150 Frederick St. in Kitchener.
Even if approved now, construction on the multi-year project isn't expected to start until 2013.

Also Tues., the public is invited to comment on a $15-million proposal to fix the traffic bottleneck at the in the Shantz Hill Road-Fountain Street-King Street corridor at the Speed River. The plan includes a roundabout at Fountain and King streets and re-aligning the bottom of Shantz Hill Road.
The drop-in session runs from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at King Street Baptist Church, 361 King St. E. in Preston.

Wed., March 10, the public is invited to comment on the latest plans -- including roundabouts -- for a $14-million "south boundary road" through North Dumfries Township at the city limits, between Water and Dundas streets.
That drop in session also runs from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Cambridge Christian School, 229 Myers Rd.
